Do we care about who sits in our Temples of Democracy?

Seriously!!!   It doesn't seem so for at least 40 % of the electorate who didn't even step out t-o vote in the 2009 General elections. What might be the reasons for not voting? and those who are voting, are they taking the pain to educate them selves about whom they are voting? Why this apathy?
Its just 66 years that India got its Independence, but it looks like we are being looted by corrupt politicians from centuries....... So much so that we are looking at yet another fight for Freedom, this time from our own greedy, egoistic, self-centered politicians.
Hardly do today's generation know about the Indian Freedom struggle and the sacrifices made by countless people for over a hundred years for us to enjoy this freedom in our lives. How come the zeal and intensity of just a generation prior to us didn't trickle down. Why this complacency? Hopefully this time, it wouldn't take a hundred years.
Enough of sitting back. Enough of blame games. We don't have the right to lament, while we let criminals rule us. Remember how they fight, throwing their Chappal, breaking the mikes, climbing the tables of the Speakers of the House, tearing each others shirts!!! and all this for what? Is it really for us?
Its time to get up and stir forward and say ENOUGH. We want to take care of ourselves. We will get in to our sacred temples of Democracy, to clean them up. And mind you these Temples don't belong to any one religion. They are the The temples of Democracy, of Humanity.

Please spare children.... REJECT FREEBIES

Its Heart breaking when we read through those details of how the children of a government school in Chapra in Bihar were forced to eat what was given to them in mid day meal, though it was tasting foul.

After all these are children,Vulnerable, can't resist and of all.... poor.

When u receive something at free of cost, neither the receiver might not value it completely, nor the giver( this case govt and politicians and the illegal beneficiaries like middlemen) give respect to the receiver.

If something was given freely to the poor in India by the govt,  its not because of their compassion, but to gain populism. The poor better understand this. But may be they are help less too, due to inflation. It might sound tough, but these things are quite so obvious that one doesn't need to be educated to see through the truth. We should REJECT their freebies, like during the freedom struggle our nation rejected foreign goods, famously called as Swadeshi movement.

Instead give food for work. Scarp this food security bill....... the Revolution started by a few brave hearts should be taken across nation, by US. We can't blame media for not doing their job, after all, they are owned and run by business tycoons, who have their own interests.

How can mindset be affected at a larger scale

While thinking of problems that bog us down day in and out, Why don't we look at solutions.
Because solutions involve US. ME. YOU. We are afraid to take that one step, which will consequently inspire us to take 10 more steps.

I used to think, change should happen and we should address the root cause of all these problems. Initially I used to think that all the problems we are facing are due to our huge population. Now I realize, that India is in such a place geographically, that it is how our population is going to be. Across the globe we can notice that population is more in countries nearer to equator. I also came to know that we can use it to our advantage, all this while regulating our population through all possible steps.

Then I strongly believed that the politics in this country is the root cause of our problems. How can we bring good people in to politics. Can we control who is being given tickets by parties? Can we start new clean party and survive and sustain. Can we change the mindsets of these politicians? All of them looked gloomy to me. Huge tasks, require individual sacrifice, guts, intelligence and persistence to do it. Surely Arvind Kejriwal and his team needs to be appreciated on this. Now that they started, we Indians are still lukewarm in our support to AAP. How many are taking it seriously and how many still are supporting it, morally or financially.

Then I concluded that its education that needs to be addressed, the way its imparted, the extent and reach of it. While this is an effective solution looking forward, What is an immediate solution, which shouldn't take longer. I realized that the ATTITUDE of ALL OF US is what is need to be addressed. How can we do it on a large scale.
1. Getting wide spread advertising to all the good and inspiring deeds, of people across India.
2. Getting  people to realize Gandhian values to lead contented and simple lives, thats basically change in attitude.
3. Inspiring and awakening children to their democratic rights and duties.
4. getting as many motivated teachers as possible.
How do we do this? How to achieve this?

Any more suggestions and comments are welcome.

Change needed - Of Individual or System?

There is always this dissatisfaction in my mind in various philanthropic activities targeting one issue / area, collecting funds for that purpose etc,. My thought was what change would this bring, with a few individuals only being benefited. Why donate again when we are all paying heavy taxes every where, while those taxes are being usurped by undeserving, selfish politicians and bureaucrats. The change has to happen at grass roots level, we need to address the problem at the root.

I had to change my mind. May be we are bringing hope and happiness to at least some lives. May be by setting an example, the world(including those corrupt) is getting to know that even a normal person  can bring a change, braving all obstacles. May be by looking at more and more people doing self-less work, there might be a change in those selfish people too.Very inspiring stories... these need to be publisised more than those negative stories. Since media has become so visible and influencing factor in our life, it has to be used in a positive way.
Would definitely start a channel only with all the inspiring stories happening around the world. Lets bring a positive revoution!!

Both have to happen simultaneously, change at the individual level and the system too. One idea and request to all those people who are doing self-less work at grass root level should contest in elections, please spread your work and apply your ideas to larger public with more easy funds and government machinery available to you.Getting in to the system is the way to clean it. Please don't think that politics and service are different.

An old motivational quote - Don't think. ACT!

Rise in Sexual abuse on children

Its Shocking. There is no reprieve to my troubled mind, after reading these every day news of sexual abuse on small children, increasingly by their own family members, including father and brother. Imagine what must be going on in the child's mind. Two days back there is a news about a 5yr old girl being abused by her uncle. Bite marks found all over her body including lips. Police are awaiting medical report!? What for ?
What kind of a punishment should these beasts be given? Shouldn't the law act brisk to convict and punish the accused.

Can that be expected in the Indian Judicial system? Haven't many of us lost our faith in our judicial system? Experts have been saying that there is a pressing need to revamp our Judicial system as well as Police. Why aren't these done on a preference? What are they doing in the Parliament? Fighting over a bill for promotions on reservations. VEXED OF THESE POLITICIANS. Yes we are. But what are we doing to change it. We are all so busy in our personal lives, gratification of senses by indulging in what ever pleases to each. Isn't TIME RIPE for people to JUMP in to action, and put things to place. WHATS STOPPING US???

Also my quest will be to find what factors are actually creating these monsters? Can any one help?

India And disability

I think there are no two thoughts when it comes to how disabled friendly is India. Any work related with government, instead of making it easy for people with disabilities, there is on contrary a round about and never ending procedure, that will actually turn out to be a test of endurance and positivity.

Am experiencing this to get a 4 wheeler driving license. I also got to know some shocking truth. Government gives 400 rupees per month as a pension for people with more than 75% disability. While am sure the same people with a never say die attitude will be earning many times this frugal amount. Its an insult to the person. What can a person get with 400 rupees a month in India?
In this context, I would like to provide a link to one of the episodes of Satyamevjayate, where very relevant facts and solutions have been mentioned.

http://www.satyamevjayate.in/issue06/videos/BWMo_2-aqpQ/

Every example in this program is inspirational including a small girl who doesn't blame any one or God but has only hope to betterment.

We don't need the money that govt gives, but the infrastructure and facilities to work have to be designed and implemented. How can make this happen?

Be the Leader

I was thinking broadly what can be the reason for most of the problems people face across the nations., which if addressed might bring peace.  One major thing I encountered is Leadership. It can be A Nation, A State, or a Home.

In day to day life, I haven't come across people who really spew venom on other community, or country. And yet we read news every day about the deaths caused by a country bombing another one, a human killing the other. All we need is good Leader ship at every level. But unfortunately, history has given very few of them till date. All through the history, there are examples of treason, greed which brought about the worst of wars and deaths of millions of innocents.

WHY?

Are we incapable of leading ourselves. Why do we always look to others to lead us? Are we realizing that temporary comfort is all we are looking at and that largely we are all selfish. But by looking only at personal goals, aren't we loosing the bigger perspective. One day our negligence or non- participation will be the cause for our personal problems too, like the price rise we are seeing today, the stink in our neighbourhood/road side bcos of irresponsible disposal of garbage to name a few.

At least we should take care in choosing good leaders.I urge all those who have the inclination to cleanse the system to join politics, and all those who would like to see a change, propagate this idea and do vote after a careful consideration.
